Starburst Free Spins and Bonuses: How the Offers Really Work
How Starburst free spins and bonuses work at crypto casinos: real terms from BitStarz and 7Bit, the value of 50 spins under 35x and 40x wagering, red flags.
Disclosure. We may earn a commission when you open a casino from this page. Commission never changes which casinos pass our checks or the facts we report. How we check
Starburst has no bonus round of its own, so every “Starburst free spins” offer is a casino promotion with its own spin value, wagering rule and win cap. At the two crypto casinos where we confirmed the game on 7 October 2026, the welcome free spins were not tied to Starburst at all, although deposit-bonus money could be wagered on it at 7Bit. Here is how those offers work, what they are worth in numbers, and what to check before you claim one.
- 1
BitStarz
Up to 5 BTC + 180 free spins over 4 deposits
- Free-spin game set by country; check the bonus section after login (bonus term 2.8)
- Free-spin winnings carry 40x wagering (term 2.3)
- Starburst page live from New Zealand, Norway, India and Japan (7 Oct 2026)
Visit siteRead review18+. New players. 40x bonus wagering, bonuses valid 7 days, 180 FS: 20 on deposit, then 20 a day for 8 days. T&Cs apply. - 2

7Bit Casino
325% up to 5.25 BTC + 250 free spins over 4 deposits
- Welcome free spins on Wild Cash x9990 (BGaming), not Starburst
- Video slots count 100% toward wagering; Starburst carries the Bonus Wagering tag
- Starburst listed with free-play and real-money modes (NZ and Norway checks, 7 Oct 2026)
Visit siteRead review18+. New players. Min deposit 0.24 mBTC. 35x wagering, max bet set in the bonus terms in your account currency. T&Cs apply.
We list these two because their Starburst pages loaded in our checks and their bonus terms were readable on the day. Neither currently names Starburst as its welcome free-spins game. If a casino advertises free spins on this slot, confirm the game in the bonus terms, not only in the banner.
What sits inside a free-spins offer
Every free-spin promotion is built from the same handful of parts. Two offers with the same headline number can be worth very different amounts once these are filled in.
| Part of the offer | What to look for | Why it changes the value |
|---|---|---|
| Spin value | Stake per free spin, often the game’s minimum | 50 spins at 0.10 is 5.00 of play; at 0.50 it is 25.00 |
| Named game | The slot the spins must be played on | Sets the RTP and volatility you get |
| Wagering on winnings | Multiple of the winnings to play through | Higher multiples add expected cost |
| Win cap | Maximum cash-out from the spins | Cuts off the rare big result |
| Activation and expiry | Hours or days to start and finish | Unused spins are lost |
| Max bet while wagering | Largest stake allowed with bonus funds | Breaking it can void the bonus |
| Country rules | Excluded countries, game availability | The game may differ, or the offer may not apply |
The two casinos’ bonus rules, read on 7 October 2026
Amounts below come from each casino’s own bonus terms. 7Bit shows them in the visitor’s currency; we read the New Zealand version.
| Rule | BitStarz | 7Bit Casino |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome free-spin game | Depends on your country; shown in the bonus section after login (term 2.8) | Wild Cash x9990 by BGaming |
| Wagering on free-spin winnings | 40x (term 2.3) | 35x |
| Time to use spins | Open the game within 1 day of crediting, finish within 1 day (2.4, 2.5) | Welcome spin sets: activate within 24 hours, finish within 1 day; bonuses expire after 14 days if not wagered |
| Wagering on no-deposit spins | Covered by the 40x free-spin rule | 45x unless stated otherwise |
| No-deposit free-spin win cap | 100 EUR/USD/USDT, 150 CAD/AUD/NZD (1.1) | 100 NZD for registration spins |
| Deposit free-spin win cap | Set per offer | 200 NZD unless stated otherwise |
| Max bet with bonus funds | Set in the offer terms | 2 NZD on welcome bonuses, 10 NZD on others |
| Game contribution | Set in the general bonus terms | Video slots 100%, other games 5%, live casino 0% |
| Welcome spins schedule | 180 spins: 20 after the first deposit, then 20 every 24 hours | Spins attached to the welcome deposits, credited automatically |
Two details are easy to miss. BitStarz requires the qualifying deposit to be wagered once within 24 hours for the welcome spins to keep arriving, and cancelling one set forfeits the rest. 7Bit excludes progressive jackpot slots from bonus play, which does not affect Starburst because it has no jackpot.
What 50 Starburst free spins are worth, worked out
Suppose a casino did offer 50 free spins on Starburst at 0.10 each. The stake value is 5.00. At NetEnt’s published 96.08% RTP, the spins are expected to return about 4.80 in winnings on average. What happens next depends entirely on the wagering rule.
- No wagering: the 4.80 average is yours to withdraw, subject to any minimum. Real value, about 4.80.
- 35x wagering: 4.80 x 35 = 168.00 to play through. At a 3.92% house edge, the expected cost of that play is about 6.59, more than the 4.80 you started with. On average, the bonus balance runs out before the wagering is done.
- 40x wagering: 192.00 to play through, expected cost about 7.53. Worse again.
Averages hide the spread. Sometimes a lucky respin chain leaves you well ahead and you clear the wagering with money to spare. Most of the time, a wagered free-spin balance shrinks to nothing. That is why we call wagered free spins a free trial rather than free money.
Using deposit-bonus money on Starburst
Deposit matches are where Starburst still earns its old reputation. 7Bit’s terms count video slots at 100% toward wagering, and its Starburst page carries the Bonus Wagering tag, the category the terms say lists every game that counts. Low volatility helps here: the balance tends to move in small steps, so it survives longer during a long playthrough than on a spiky game.
It does not make the maths kind. Take a 100 bonus with 35x wagering: 3,500 to stake. With a 2 NZD max bet in force, that is at least 1,750 spins. At 96.08%, the expected cost of 3,500 in bets is about 137, which is more than the bonus. Starburst makes that journey smoother; it cannot make it profitable on average.
The Starburst odds page shows how to price any session the same way. Swap in the casino’s own RTP if its info panel shows a different build, and the bonus wagering multiple from its terms, and the arithmetic takes under a minute.
Following a playthrough, spin by spin
Wagering is easier to judge once you have watched the numbers move. Imagine a 20.00 bonus at 35x, so 700.00 must be staked. At 7Bit, the terms say your real-money balance is used first and that bets from both real and bonus money count toward the requirement.
- Pick a legal stake. With a 2 NZD cap on welcome bonuses, a Starburst stake of 1.00 (coin 0.10, level 1) is safely inside it. 700 spins will be needed at that stake.
- Watch the requirement counter, not the balance. Each 1.00 spin knocks 1.00 off the 700 remaining, win or lose.
- Expect slow erosion. At a 23% hit frequency, most spins return nothing and many wins are smaller than the stake, so the balance tends to slide between respin chains.
- Know the likely ending. The expected cost of 700 in bets at 96.08% is about 27.44, more than the 20.00 bonus. Most runs end with the balance at zero before the counter does.
- Stop if you want to. You can usually forfeit a bonus and keep any real money that is left; check the cancellation rule in the terms.
Players who finish with a profit are the ones who hit an early respin chain or a five-of-a-kind on a premium symbol. That is luck, not technique, which is why we treat the bonus as extra playtime.
Max-bet caps and the Starburst stake buttons
Starburst stakes come in steps of coin value x bet level x 10 lines, so it is easy to break a cap without noticing. Under a 2 NZD limit, coin 0.20 at level 1 is exactly 2.00 and allowed; coin 0.25 at level 1 is 2.50 and breaks it. Coin 0.02 at level 10 is 2.00 and also fine. After any change to coin value or bet level, read the total stake shown on screen, not the coin number. A single spin over the limit can be enough for a casino to remove bonus winnings.
Bonus types compared for a Starburst player
| Bonus type | How it is usually paid | Fit for Starburst |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome free spins | Fixed spins on one named game | Only if Starburst is the named game, which it was not at our two casinos |
| Deposit match | Bonus money with wagering and a bet cap | Usable where slots count 100%; low volatility keeps the balance alive longer |
| Reload with spins | Smaller match plus spins on a rotating game | Starburst only in weeks the casino chooses it |
| Cashback on losses | Percentage of net real-money losses | Works on any game, including Starburst, if you meet the qualifying conditions |
| No-deposit spins | Small number of spins, capped and wagered | A free trial of the casino, rarely of this slot |
Reloads and cashback at 7Bit
7Bit’s Monday Reload, as written in its New Zealand terms, gives 25% up to 1,000 NZD plus 50 free spins with the code MONDAY and a deposit of at least 100 NZD. A different game is chosen for the spins each week, so Starburst may or may not appear. Its Weekly Cashback is calculated on real-money losses between Monday 00:00 and Sunday 23:59 UTC, and players at levels 1 to 5 qualify only after depositing 500 NZD or more and playing the balance to zero during the week. Cashback is the one bonus type that is not tied to a specific slot, but its qualifying bar is high.
Small print that catches honest players
- Forfeiting a spin set. BitStarz says cancelling any part of the welcome spins forfeits the remaining sets.
- Bonus-to-deposit ratio. 7Bit reserves the right to stop offering bonuses once a player’s bonuses exceed 50% of deposits.
- Verification before payout. Both casinos may ask for identity documents before paying no-deposit winnings.
- Exchange rates. 7Bit says it may use a current EUR exchange rate from Google for crypto amounts because of price swings, which can shift caps expressed in fiat.
Crypto-specific points
When a bonus is credited in coin units, the fiat value of both the bonus and its cap can change while you play. A win cap of 200 in fiat terms may correspond to a different amount of Bitcoin by the time you withdraw. Withdrawal minimums and network fees also bite harder on small bonus wins: if the minimum withdrawal is close to the cap, a capped win may barely clear it. Check both figures before you start a playthrough.
No-deposit spins and free chips
No-deposit offers are the most searched and the most restricted. At BitStarz, players from a long list of countries, including Algeria, Argentina, Austria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Chile and China, are not eligible for the no-deposit free spins (term 1.6), disposable email addresses are refused (1.4), and the account must be email-verified first (1.5). Winnings are capped at 100 EUR or USD, and nothing can be withdrawn until a deposit of at least 20 has been made. 7Bit’s New Zealand terms cap registration free-spin winnings at 100 NZD.
7Bit adds its own conditions: no-deposit free spins, including those from the VIP manager, carry 45x wagering unless stated otherwise, and the casino may request identity checks before paying no-deposit winnings. A 10.00 win from such spins therefore needs 450.00 of play, with an expected cost of about 17.64 on a 96.08% slot.
None of that makes no-deposit spins worthless. They let you test a casino’s cashier, support and verification before you risk your own money, which is useful information. Expect the spins to be on the casino’s chosen game, not necessarily Starburst.
“Free Bitcoin” for Starburst
Older pages on this site promised free Bitcoin to play Starburst. In practice, the offers labelled that way fall into three groups:
- Bonus credit shown in BTC. A deposit match or free chip paid in Bitcoin units, with the usual wagering and caps.
- Free spins valued in crypto. Spins whose winnings are credited in your coin, again with wagering.
- Faucets and giveaway sites. Small amounts of coin for tasks or ads, unrelated to any casino licence and often not worth the time.
Treat any “free BTC” headline as a bonus until the terms say otherwise, and never send coins to a site that asks for a “verification deposit” to release free crypto.
Why Starburst was everyone’s free-spins slot
For years Starburst was one of the most common games for welcome spins. Casinos liked it because almost every player recognised it, and players liked it because its 23% hit frequency produced visible wins from even ten or twenty spins. Low volatility also kept the casino’s exposure predictable: an 800x cap means a spin at 0.10 can never pay more than 80.
At the two crypto casinos we checked, free spins now go to other games, and the free-spin pages still naming Starburst are often years old. That is why searching for Starburst free spins at crypto sites mostly turns up old pages. If you find a live offer, the checks below still apply.
Red flags in Starburst bonus adverts
- “Free spins on Starburst” in the banner, but a different game in the terms.
- No mention of the spin value or the win cap.
- Wagering applied to deposit plus bonus rather than bonus only, which doubles the playthrough.
- Very short expiry, such as one day to activate and one day to finish.
- A licence number that does not open a valid record at the regulator, or no licence shown at all.
- Promises of free Bitcoin with no terms page.
A five-step bonus check for this slot
- Open the bonus terms and find the named game. If it is not Starburst, decide whether you want the offer anyway.
- Note the spin value, the win cap and the wagering multiple.
- Price it: winnings x wagering x 3.92% gives the expected cost of clearing it on a 96.08% build.
- Check the Starburst info panel at that casino for its RTP; a lower build raises the cost.
- Set a deposit limit before you claim, because bonuses encourage longer play.
When a bonus goes wrong: complaints
Bonus disputes are the most common casino complaint, usually over a max-bet breach or a voided win. Start with the casino’s support and keep screenshots of the terms and your bet history. If that fails, the next step depends on the licence. BitStarz is licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority, which does not mediate individual disputes; it points players to the casino first and then to one of its certified alternative dispute resolution bodies. 7Bit’s international site runs under a Tobique Gaming Commission licence, checked through the seal link on the casino’s own footer rather than by searching the bare domain. Our crypto casino guide explains both checks.
What older Starburst bonus pages got wrong
Earlier versions of this site, like many from that era, promised Starburst jackpots, free Bitcoin and bonuses that would bring you “closer to big wins”. None of that survives a reading of the rules. Starburst has a fixed 800x cap and no jackpot. Free-spin offers come from casinos, each with conditions that reduce their value. A bonus can extend a session, test a casino or soften a loss through cashback; it cannot turn a 96.08% game into a profitable one. We rebuilt the page around the terms themselves so you can judge each offer on its numbers.
Where to go next
For the casinos where Starburst was live in our checks, and how to verify their licences, see where to play Starburst with crypto. To try the game first with no money at all, use the official free demo. If you are new to the game, how to play Starburst explains stakes and the wild respin, and the Starburst overview compares the original with its sequels.
Bonuses and control
Bonuses are designed to keep you playing longer. Decide your budget first and treat any bonus as extra playtime, never as a reason to deposit more. Players must be 18 or older, or the higher legal age where they live. If gambling stops being fun, our responsible gambling page lists free help, including Gamblers Anonymous and Gambling Therapy.
Starburst bonus questions
Does Starburst have a free spins feature?
No. The game’s only feature is the expanding wild with up to three respins. Any free spins on Starburst come from a casino promotion, with that casino’s terms.
Which crypto casinos give free spins on Starburst?
We could not confirm one on 7 October 2026. 7Bit Casino’s welcome free spins are played on Wild Cash x9990 by BGaming, and BitStarz says its free-spin game depends on the player’s country, visible only after login.
Can I use a deposit bonus on Starburst?
At 7Bit Casino, yes: its terms count video slots at 100% toward wagering and the Starburst page carries the Bonus Wagering tag. Always check the max-bet rule first; 7Bit’s New Zealand terms cap bets at 2 NZD while a welcome bonus is active.
Are no-deposit free spins on Starburst worth it?
They cost nothing, but winnings are capped and must be wagered. BitStarz caps no-deposit free-spin winnings at 100 EUR or USD, and 7Bit’s New Zealand terms cap them at 100 NZD. Treat them as a free trial, not income.
What is a fair wagering requirement for free spins?
Lower is better, and none is best. At 40x, as BitStarz applies to free-spin winnings, the expected cost of the wagering usually exceeds what the spins pay on a 96% slot.
Is free Bitcoin for Starburst real?
Offers advertised as free Bitcoin are almost always bonus credit or free spins with wagering, not coins you can withdraw at once. Read the terms before you claim.
Do free-spin winnings on Starburst count as real money?
Not straight away. At both casinos we checked, free-spin winnings arrive as bonus money that must be wagered, 40x at BitStarz and 35x at 7Bit for deposit spins, before they can be withdrawn.
Can I choose Starburst for my welcome free spins?
Usually not. The casino names the game. At 7Bit it was Wild Cash x9990, and BitStarz assigns the game by country.
